WHY THIS MATTERS

Test 1 | Standing Balance

Do each near a wall for safety. Hold 10 seconds.

Level 1: Feet together.

Level 2: Semi-tandem (heel beside arch).

Level 3: Tandem (heel to toe).

Level 4: Single leg.

All four without wobbling: healthy balance. Struggling at Level 2-3: trainable deficits. Difficulty at Level 1: elevated risk.

Test 2 | Chair Stand

Arms crossed. Stand and sit 5 times without hands.

Time yourself.

Under 12 seconds: healthy.

12-15 seconds: moderate concern.

Over 15 or unable: higher concern.

Test 3 | Timed Up And Go

Stand, walk 10 feet, turn, walk back, sit.

Time yourself.

Under 12 seconds: normal.

12-20 seconds: some limitation.

Over 20 seconds: significant concern.

These tests measure static balance, leg strength, and functional mobility. If you struggled with any test, specific trainable weaknesses exist. The earlier you act, the more effective training is. Educational self-assessment, not a clinical evaluation. Consult your physician for medical concerns.

Why Working With a Coach Changes Everything

Balance problems build slowly.

Most people do not notice until a fall forces it.

One in four adults over 65 falls

each year.

Most falls result from weakness, poor balance, and reduced mobility.

All three are trainable.

What Happens After Physical Therapy Ends?

Medical care and PT are designed to stabilize and discharge. Real life requires something different: strength, balance, and confidence that lasts years—not weeks.

Resilient Movement Company is built specifically for the gap between the clinic and the gym—where independence is either protected or slowly lost.
